District V Book Project 2013

Runnels school donated over 2000 books to project.  Chapter distributed 670 children's books to Parker House, Big Buddy Program, Volunteers in Public Schools and Domestic Violence Center.

Chapter also distributed 1400 adult books to Raven Shelter, Capital Area Alliance for Homeless and Adult Literacy Advocates.

2013 Book Donation

Project Patriot 2013

Chapter members donated 2000 toiletry items and 145 welcome home gift bags for service men and women returning to Ft. Polk from Afghanistan.  Chapter also delivered 13 sets of sheets and 12 pillows to Ft. Polk in December 2013.

Re dedication of Historical Marker April 2014

Vietnam War Memorial Marker - Current Project

The chapter is working with the Port Hudson National Cemetery Complex to place a memorial in honor of those who served during the Vietnam War.  The chapter is working on a design that will be approved by the federal government and then it will be installed in the new section of the cemetery complex.  To cover the cost of the memorial, the chapter has accepted donations from members and the community.  Below is a list of the names in which donations were made in their honor or memory.
